1. In v.1-5, the principles of Christian living is to be an imitators of God. What action, and words are fitting of the character v.3, 4. Christian living is not optional for us to inherit the KOG.
2. In v.6-8, we need to be on guard of whom we associated with, because
a. we need to be careful not to be deceived by empty words 6a or words without basis or truth. Because with these words we will do corresponding things v.6b. Note, the wrath of God is the same regarding these things and regarding what the disobedience sons (unbelievers) do in 2:2
b. of our new position. What we do and say should be corresponding to this new position, ie. children of light.
Reflection: Christian living are partly by learning (being the imitators) and partly by responding to our nature (being the children of light). Either one, we need to be watch out and think what kinds of words, actions, or association are along the character of God.
Therefore, I need to know God in order to imitate Him. Or, I need to read the Bible and pray. And then I need to reflect on what I say, do, and whom I befriend with against the words that I read. Am I doing just half way or only sometimes?
