New Life, new living (seed, and response) e.g. be holy, love the Word
From 2:11, Christian's relationship with the world. Our role determine our behavior.
v.11 Piligrims, visitor of the world. Are we going to stay away from the world? No, we are stay away from flesh, but we still live among the world.
是客旅 piligrim，是寄居的 refugee, we do not belong here.
When we travel, we will relax and not so discipline. Be careful. Stay away from our flesh 私慾, sin nature. Because 這私慾是與靈魂爭戰的 this happens always.
v.12 品行端正 our whole lives, not just once, need to be good. why? 毀謗你們是作惡的
in history, Christians are cannablism, we are interrmarrying among family, we turn the world upside down. Still true today. What can we do? Good behaviors led other to salvation. The day of visitation: 2nd coming (judgment) or God's mercy (salvation). Mt 5:16 J's disciple believed and did what He said.
Reason #2 for good behavior v.15 we can shut the mouth for those with no knowledge. The requirement for elder and deacon, above reproach.
v.13-14 how can we live under the man-made system.
Peter lived under the hostile Roman empire. Why? For the Lord.
The world leader (rom 13) v.13 supposed to praise good and punish the bad. This is the will of God v.15.
v.16 We are free, but not to use it as an excuse for sin.
v.17 4 commands: Fear God, but only honor the king.
