Ob and In:
(1) repeated words:
No or not v.5 The LORD had not caused rain on the earth and no man to cultivate the ground... The stage is set for something to happen...the purpose of the creation is yet to come.
(2) breath of life, a living breathing being, the tree of life
The tree of life (the eating from the tree gives life) is related to the life that God breath into man to make him alive. Adam already had life from God. He probably did not "need" to eat from it, but was reminded that his life was from God.
It was the opposite of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This tree probably also served as a reminder, too.
(3) The LORD God formed man, planted an orchard...placed the man...made all kinds of trees grow, The LORD God took the man and placed him in the orchard in Eden to care for it and to maintain it. Then the LORD God commanded...
God has a plan for man. He set up the place he lived, the job he did, and the food he needed. Finally, He gave him a command to follow
(4) good and evil
The word good was repeated when God reflected on all the creation. It is a judgment of God.
Summary: A stage was set for mankind. When man was formed we were given the life from God. A tree reminded Adam of this fact. Before God gave the command, he did a set of things that made Him well deserved the position to give command (He set up the place he lived, the job he did, and the food he needed). Man should followed His judgement and not to violate His command and disobeyed.
Reflection: When I sinned against God did I remember all the things He had done for me? When I anger am I able to face the God Who put me in MN, gave me a job to serve Him, giving me all the resources I need everyday, created me from the beginning, elected me for salvation, setting up reminders for me not to anger, and forming the stage for me to live for Him?
