Mark 14:43-52

 (1) Observations;

a. v.41b The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.
Who are the sinners in plural? Judas, and the chief priests, experts in the law and elders v.43.

b. v.44 “The one I kiss is the man.”
(NET) Judas’ act of betrayal when he kissed Jesus is especially sinister when it is realized that it was common in the culture of the times for a disciple to kiss his master when greeting him.

v.43b With him came a crowd armed with swords and clubs,
v.44  Arrest him and lead him away under guard
14:48 Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw?

Not only did the religious leaders sent the crowd to arrest Jesus with swords and clubs, in v.44 Judas also warned the crowd to arrest Jesus securely. Why? They all aware that Jesus has the power to perform miracles. He might get off from their arrest.

c. 14:48 Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw?14:49 Day after day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, yet you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that the scriptures would be fulfilled.”

Jesus was not an outlaw who would run away from being arrested. They would have caught Him everyday in the temple. He was willing to sacrifice for the plan of salvation.

d. 14:50 Then all the disciples left him and fled.
14:52 but he ran off naked, leaving his linen cloth behind.

In v.52, the young man rather be naked than being caught. All the disciples fled and avoided to be caught, too. When did they started to flee in v.50? When Jesus said, "But this has happened so that the scriptures would be fulfilled.”
(BKC) When Jesus’ response made it clear that He would not resist His arrest, the disciples’ loyalty and their confidence in Him as the Messiah collapsed. Everyone (“all,” emphatic by position) deserted Him and fled. No one remained with Jesus to share His suffering—not even Peter (cf. v. 29).

(2) Reflection: Jesus was willingly to sacrifices for us. He gave up the chance to run away when He knew the betray was going to happen, the chance to fight back when He was arrested, the chance to come down from the Cross. Thank you Jesus.
On the other hand, Jesus was willingly to be caught by the sinners. Judas get his 30 pieces of silver, and the religious leader got their "enemies" wipe out. He did that for a purpose and He let them "win."
Are we willing sacrifice for God? Are we willing to let other "win" so that the plan of God will succeed?
