Mark 5:21-43

 (1) Repeated words:

a. A large crowd gathered around Jesus v.21, 24, 30,31
b. Things happened invisibly: A woman kept saying to herself v.28, she felt in her body that she was healed v.29, Jesu knew that power had gone out from Him v.30, woman knowing what happened to her came and fell down before Jesus v.33.
c. A group of people who think they knew better than Jesus without knowing what happened invisibly.
5:31 His disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing against you and you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

Second group of people think that Jesus could no longer be needed because Jairus' daughter had died.
5:35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue ruler’s house saying, “Your daughter has died. Why trouble the teacher any longer?”

Lastly, there was a group of people simply disbelieved.
5:39 When he entered he said to them, “Why are you distressed and weeping? The child is not dead but asleep.” 5:40 And they began making fun of him.

(2) Reflection:
a. Whether out of ignorance, or disbelief, there were always some people who tried to stop Jesus. It was because they thought they knew better. We might face barriers like that today in ministry and it is not uncommon.

b. Shall we be that ignorant, disbelieving people who tried to stop other believers in their ministries? Do we always think that we know better?

c. Jesus said to the woman who once suffered from a hemorrhage, " O daughter" v.34.  Imagine a 30+ years old young man calling another adult female, "daughter." That is weird. He said that from the divine perspective. He is our dear Creator. We are all His precious "daughters" in His eyes.
