(1) Jesus said to the blind man, "“Go, your faith has healed you.”
What did the blind man, Bartimaeus, do to show his faith? He called Jesus Son of David v.47, 48. To Him, Jesus was not just a man, but the Messiah. Second, He could not cooperate and keep quiet because he knew Jesus was merciful enough to heal a beggar v.47-48. (NET) The crowd’s view was that surely Jesus would not be bothered with someone as unimportant as a blind beggar.
Third, when they called the blind man to come to Jesus he threw off his cloak and jumped up. He knew for sure something big was going to happen. Fourth, he asked Jesus to let him see again v.51.
(2) Reflection: How did you show your faith? Will you not get discouraged when the circumstances are discouraging (e.g. the pandemic)? Will you trust that God is merciful and keep having hope in God? Are you happy to have a chance to speak in front of God for your request (which means prayer)? Will you bring your request in front of God?
Will you feel frustrated that you cannot change yourself from sinful thought? Or you are frustrated that no one can help you from your seemingly hopeless situation? Remember the blind man. He jumped up when he got a chance to come to Jesus.
