John 21:20-24

From v.19, Jesus had already told Peter to follow Him. The reason for following was because of Peter's love to Him and the result of following was death.

Peter probably felt bad about that and therefore he wondered about the disciples whom Jesus loved v.20. He surely should love the Lord, did he need to die? Note, in v.20, John (the beloved disciple) followed Peter and Jesus while they had the previous conversation v.15-19.
In other words, even if God treats other followers better than you do you still want to follow Him to the point of death? If another teacher seems to have an easy going class, but you need to prepare more and get less response, do you still want to serve? If another church has more members and ministries are more vibrant do you still want to be "stuck" with our little church?
Having a heart of feeling at peace for whatever God gives to us is my prayer today.
