Main idea: Jesus stayed in the wilderness until the time set by the Father. People who came to the Passover cared a lot about His whereabouts. The time for Jesus’ crucifixion was near.
Reflection: 11:55 Now the Jewish feast of Passover was near, and many people went up to Jerusalem from the rural areas before the Passover to cleanse themselves ritually.

People cleansed themselves ritually so that they could participate in the Passover celebration. Jesus was the Lamb of God to take our place and bring us the ultimate solution for being cleansed. However, the people did not care about the Lamb of God but only wanted to continue to celebrate the feast. For tradition? Or for fun? How about myself? Do I misplace the focus of my life and fail to see what is important? Do I fail to see the Lamb of God as the most important person?
Many years ago, I read a pamphlet, called, “The tyranny of the urgent.” Many times we put the wrong focus on the urgent matter because it caught our attention. However, they are not necessarily the important matter. May God give us wisdom to choose the right focus.
