v.1-12
Another proverbs about gossip,
v.8 The words of a gossip are like choice morsels;
they go down into the person’s innermost being. 傳舌人的言語如同美食,
深入人的心腹。
NET notes, "There is a flaw in human nature that assures slander will be listened to." Which means we need to be careful not to speak and not to listen to the gossip. I have a reflection lately about gossip. While I shared with a sister to care about another sister others about us listen to our conversation. At the end, everyone discuss about this. Although this is not a secret but others do not need to know about this. On one hand, this proverbs proved to be corrected because God knows us very well. On the other hand, I need to be more careful in the future in sharing.

In v.9-12 is a good balance between rich/hard working:
v.9 The one who is slack in his work
is a brother to one who destroys.
v.10 The name of the LORD is like a strong tower;
the righteous person runs to it and is set safely on high.
v. 11 The wealth of a rich person is like a strong city,
and it is like a high wall in his imagination.
v.12 Before destruction the heart of a person is proud,
but humility comes before honor.

v.12 Before destruction the heart of a person is proud,

v.9 encouraged us to work hard and not to slack in work. Working hard may result with good wealth. However, v.10-11 tell us that wealth can not be our security. Only God is our security. Plus v.12 reminds us that being wealthy should not be proud. Or, proud in general will leads to destruction.
Note in v.11 that the wealth is only like a high wall in his imagination, which means it is a false security. Do you have any false security? Money? Good job? Good education and professional? You all know that I am going to lose my job soon. My colleague told me yesterday that she could have never imagined that pharmacist will be obsolete. Of course, we will. Only being righteous and runs to the LORD will one find security, because He will be our strong tower.
