Psalm 67

 Overview:

(NET)  The psalmist prays for God’s blessing upon his people and urges the nations to praise him for he is the just ruler of the world.

Observations:
(1) The nation will praise God when they see how God deliver His people v.1-2
(2)  The nations will thank God for
a. He executed justice among nations and governed the people v.3-4.
The psalmist tied the rescue of Israel with the judgment of God among the nations because God punished those who oppressed Israel.

b. The same word, "earth" is used in both v.6 and 7.
67:6 The earth yields its crops.
May God, our God, bless us!
       67:7 May God bless us!
Then all the ends of the earth will give him the honor he deserves.

In other words, everyone shares the earth and its harvest. Then everyone (the same group of people) will give the glory to God.

Reflections:
v.1-2 Do I give praise to God for what I see God has been doing in other people's life? The nations see how God delivers His people and praise Him. Do I give thanks to God who saves people and I can witness the changes in their lives?

v.3-4 Do I believe that God is still the King over all the earth and He executes justice and governs people today? I still survive and enjoy a certain degree of safety because of our high King in heaven. Thank Him!.

Justice and governing are not found and therefore, when people saw those qualities from God they thank Him! God rescued His people from the oppressor and He still do that today. Let us pray for our brothers and sisters under the oppression in the communist countries.

v.5-7 God has blessed us with abundant foods even in the pandemic. Thank God!v.5-7 Not only the nations see the blessings God gave to Israel, but everyone enjoys the blessings. God has blessed us with abundant foods even in the pandemic.  God has also given me a lot of blessings personally. Thank God!
