Judges 3:1-11

 3:1-11

(1) 3:5 The Israelites lived among the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites. 3:6 They took the Canaanites’ daughters as wives and gave their daughters to the Canaanites; they worshiped their gods as well.

Israel lived among the Canaanites, and inter-married with them. Finally, they worshipped their gods. Marriage and worship are closely-related. At the end, they mingled and formed 1 people group. Think about this for a second. God called Noah out from his wicked generations. Then God called Abraham out from Er and then finally God called Israel out of Egypt to form His own people. Now, Israel did just the very opposite. If they just mingled with the Canaanites, there was no need to call them out in the first place.

Reflection: Are we behaving the same way as what we did before we were born again? Do we act like unsaved people? Do we live among the unsaved, mingled with them? If yes, why do we get saved?
