Overview: NET, The author thanks the Lord for delivering him from death and urges others to join him in praise. The psalmist experienced divine discipline for a brief time, but when he cried out for help the Lord intervened and restored his favor.
A unique theme of this psalm is the healing in v.2. David probably went through some fatal disease and the LORD healed him ("Pulled me up from Sheol," " rescue me from among those descending into the grave." v.3). I shared this same feeling about this time last year when I had a very bad cough that lasted for over a month and it eventually went away after 2 months. At that time, I prayed and expected the cough would went away sooner, but it did not happened accordingly. God has His plan and I did not totally understand it. One thing I am sure is, He did healed me. I am all well now. And, that I will not forget about His mercy.
From v.5-11, David described his experience when he went through the anger of God and the good favor of God. v.5, 7. Even when he went during the time he went through the time that the Lord rejected him David still cried out to the LORD and He delivered him eventually v.10. What I learned is this: no matter what is the source of our suffering, either it was from Satan, from our sins, or from God we always turn to God for help! Most of time we do not know why we suffer, but we know our help always come from God. Perhaps we should spend less time to ask why and just turn to God and begged for His mercy.
