This is a long psalm and therefore, I will only write briefly about the outline.
v.1-3 David prased God for He is his protection.
v.4-6 David was near death and cried out to God for help
v.7-15 God was angry and came down from heaven to be at war with David's enemy
v.16-19*** God reached down from heaven and pulled David out from his strong enemy.
v.20-27 God is faithful and He rescued to those who obeyed Him.
v.28-39 With God's help David have all the military strength he needed
v.40-45 David turned the battle around and won over his enemies.
v.46-50 Summary and conclusion.
Reflection:
18:16 He reached down from above and took hold of me; he pulled me from the surging water.
This reminds me for our rupture (1 Thess 5:17). When the world is facing the imminent 7 years of tribulations Jesus came down from heaven to snatch the believers away. We dont know when this will happen. From the current events it seems like the day is coming. He will rescue us from the surging water and from the strong enemy. We dont need to worry or live in fear. We stands on a ROCK!
