Ephesians 5:1-5

Eph 5:1-5 As what I shared yesterday, our motive for sanctification is our relationship with God. 5:1 reminds us that we are children of God in love, 5:8 said, we are children of light. (What a change from 2:2-3 we are sons of disobedience). Children need to imitate our parents 5:1, "Therefore, be imitators of God as dearly loved children 5:2 and live in love." What shall we do/not do is evaluated in our heart as, "is this fitting?" "Is this out of character?" 5:3 But among you there must not be either sexual immorality, impurity of any kind, or greed, as these are not fitting for the saints.5:4 Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting—all of which are out of character—but rather thanksgiving. Thanksgiving season is approaching and it is the only positive thing mentioned in this passage. Do you have any thanksgiving to share?
