Eph 2:4-10
Observation: twice Paul said we are saved by grace v. 5 & 8. Also he mentioned mercy, love v. 4, and grace 7.
I am using the NET Bible and "by grace you have been saved" v. 5 is perfect tense in Greek and thus it meant something happened in the past and still have the effect today. Also the tense in v. 6 He raised us up and seated us ...In heaven are in past tense. Having been created in Christ Jesus for good works v. 10 in the past.
Sharing: our salvation is so secure that it is described in the past tense. It is a done deal and still affect us today in how we live and how we see ourselves. Especially in v. 10. We are not designed to dwelling in and followed the scheme of Satan. Instead, God planned beforehand for us to to do good in Jesus Christ.
Sometimes I know some sinful thoughts are from Satan because I have not read or listen or watch anything like that. But I can claim victory over sins after I confessed that. Because I was not made to be the slave to sin, but slave to God who loves me and have mercy and grace to me.
