Eph 6:10-20
1. We need to be strength by the power of the Lord because there is another forces against us. It is not just strong but crafty v.11, 12 "schemes" "rulers" "powers" "forces" and "heavens."
2. The command is "take up" the armor of God and 'stand firm" v.13,14. All these things following are to help us to stand v.13 against these great and crafty forces of the evil.
a. fastening the belt and get ready (truth)
b. putting on the breastplate and wont get the fatal shot in the heart (righteousness)
c. fitting with shoes on feet and able to march (preparation that comes from the Gospel)
d. taking up the shield and not just protecting myself, but when we form a line we protect the whole army (faith)-so that the flaming arrows of the evil one can be extinguish-it tells us the battle is fierce.
e. take the helmet (salvation) and sword (the word of God)-this is the only weapon of the whole list.
f. Pray and be alert, also pray for others like Paul. They need our pray so that they can speak to make known the gospel. And speak boldly. This is the last item of the list and perhaps this is the focus of the battle.

God has given us the truth, the righteousness, the Gospel, the salvation and the word of God. The only question is do we take it up? On the other hand, I need to have faith, and to pray. Not just for myself, but for other soldiers who stand shoulder to shoulder with me.
