Why do we want to be saved? Certainly, we want to escape from God’s wrath (Ro 1:18). After Paul has explained everything about justification by faith, in Chapter 5 he tells us why a person wants to be saved. It is because now we can come to God without hindrance (Ro 5:1-2). In this chapter, Paul explains the aspect of love in the gospel (Ro 5:8).
So don’t miss the point - The whole purpose of salvation is for the purpose of our free communication with God because He enjoys it. Shouldn’t we also enjoy talking to God also?

Paul starts Chapter 5 likes this, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith... (Ro.5:1)." In other words, expect more! One of the phrase repeats in this passage is "how much more (Ro. 5:9, 10, 15, 17)." Gifts from God is more than justification from faith. At least in this passage I can see that we now have peace with God (Ro. 5:1). One of the translation says, "Let's rejoice in the hope of the glory of God (Ro. 5:2), and we rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Ro. 5:11)." We can enjoy God, not feeling frightened when we face Him. No matter what our sufferings are today (Ro. 5:3-4). He is the one who loves us and demonstrates that by the death of Jesus Christ (Ro. 5:6-8). The future is even better (Ro. 5:9-11). Paul did not say the details, but he compares the sin-reigned world now and the grace-reigned people group within it. Grace-reigned people are more than their sin being canceled (Ro. 5:18, 21). They have eternal life! We may take it for granted that the cancellation of sin is eternal life. No, the cancellation of sin only means that God will not punished us. The eternal life is a gift that is added to us. In other words, the work on the Cross is more than overcoming the destruction that sin brings to us.
