John 3:16 tells us our salvation is due to God’s love. And Ro 3:25-26 tells us this salvation is also based on God’s righteousness. God’s love is valuable because it builds upon His righteousness. If His love is without righteousness, it is worthless. At most it is favoritism and every one is able to do it. However, God’s love is limited by His righteousness. This is why God’s love is priceless. He can choose not to save but if He saves us, He must pay the price – His son as our atonement.
