Ro 12:1-2 is the entrance of progressive sanctification. Without this surrender, we will not be able to obey the following commands. Because of these commands are against the teachings of this world. We may be able to follow half of the commands but not the whole. We may “never avenge yourselves”(v19) but we won’t feed them (v20). This is why Jesus challenges us to count the cost to be His disciple. However, if we experience God’s mercies, this surrender is “你们如此事奉乃是理所当然的。” In fact, what else can you do to your life? Either you are going to waste it or surrender to God.
