To what end shall we study the Bible? If it is for the increase of knowledge, Paul says it will only puff us up (1 Cor 8:1). Our knowledge should cause us to love God more (1 Cor 8:3), otherwise it is useless. When we love God, we would also love our brothers and sisters in deed. Food is very important in Chinese culture, but Paul would never eat anything that causes others to stumble because he loves God and others (1 Cor 8:12-13).
