Have you ever think about why Jesus has to take away the sight of Saul and gives it back a few days later. I am that is related to humbling him. However, there may be another component of this question. He restores his sight through Ananias in Damacus (Acts 9:10-16). The Lord makes sure Saul will "go to church" after he is saved. Ananias is the first believer Saul has contacted with. Then the other disciples in Damacus have fellowship with him (Acts 9:19). Later, Saul has his followers (Acts 9:25), Barnabas (Acts 9:27) befriend with him. Finally, the disciples in Jerusalem accepted him (Acts 9:28). Isn't this the plan of God after we are saved that He put us in a local church? Paul is the one who may attain the highest group in theology, but the Lord makes sure that he is in the hand of the local church. How much more do we need to fellowship with brothers and sisters?
