If Paul is only concerning his release, when Festus offers Paul to be trial in Jerusalem, he would takes the offer because it seems to be the quickest way out (Acts 25:9-11). However, he insists to be trial by Caesar probably because Acts 23:11. Because of that, he escapes from another assassination (Acts 25:3) and has more chances to share the gospel to important people like Agrippa the king and Bernice.
Sometime people question us why we are so stubborn in our faith, couldn’t we compromise in some area? But if we do that, we will not accomplish God’s will and we also fall out of God’s protection because we choose our way instead of God’s way.

The most important thing to Paul is the command of the Lord in Acts 23:11, "...testify for me in Rome." This is one of the way to accomplish His command in Acts 1:8, "...you will be my witness to the ends of the world." How can this be done? In chapter 23-25, Luke describes how the Jews leader want to kill Paul, but the Roman government protects him. On the other hand, the Roman government wants to please the Jewish leader and keep Paul in the prison. This is unique at that time. Roman government rules the world, but they allow the locals to keep their culture and they rely on the local leaders to help them. God chooses the right time to do the right thing. He is all wise!
