After the very beginning, we see the conflict between the Messiah and this world. This world always wants to get rid of the Messiah. Jesus is also the type of Israel - 「我從埃及召出我的兒子來。」
(15) is the beginning of Israel and “在拉瑪聽見號咷大哭的聲音…” (17-19) is the exile of Israel. Jesus will fulfill the purpose of Israel through His body (i.e. local church)(Mike).
Jesus' birth is not only a secret shared between his parents. Even the Magi from the East, Herod, and the chief priests and teachers of the law knew about it. Unfortunately, the whole city of Bethlehem parents with boys under 2 knew about it. This confirms that the birth of Jesus is not a fiction, but a fact. On the other hand, I also see that the encounter about His birth shows the care of God over His Son. A star directed the path of the Magi, a dream warned them not going back to Herod, an angel told Joseph to go to Egypt, then told him to come back. Finally another dream to tell Joseph to stay in Galilee. We all know that God has a big plan for this world:He will come back and take the church away, and then the kingdom will come...etc. What does that do to me? In the birth of Jesus, God not only cares about the coming of the King He also provides all the need to care out His plan. Do you think He will neglect your need to carry out His universal plan?
