Micah 2
Now Micah lists the sins of the people. First, they plan evil (v.1). There is a difference between doing it and planning it. They do not sin accidentially. They meditate on it. The Scripture also says they plan on their beds (at night), then in the morning they execute it. In other words, they are eager to do it. What they do is to take their fellow men's inheritance. How they divide their land is regulated by the Mosaic Law and when they do it they directly violate the One who gives the Law (v.5). Second, they love the false prophets who lie to them (v.6-11). They do not do righteous but the prophets say they will enjoy great blessings (v.11). On the other hand they do not like to hear from the true prophet (v.6). They know what they do does not please God, but they do not want to hear that. Whom they want to please? Themselves.
Conclusion: They do not want to follow God (v.1-5) and they want to be their own god (v.6-11). How about us?
