Jonah 2
When Jonah fell into the deep ocean and God brought his life up (probably through the swalling of the great fish (1:17, 2:6). Now Jonah realized that when he did not worship God (like those who cling to worthless idols p.8a) he forfeited the grace (v.8b). Now he repents and he shows that in his willingness to offer of sacrifice to God (v.9). In other words, when he repents he is willing to obey God. Therefore God commanded the fish to spit him out (v.10). Offering is related to obedience. When we offer ourselves as sacrifices (Rom 12), we should be ready to obey to God.
