How can we forgive people who had hurt us? Joseph forgave his brothers because of 2 reasons. First, he knew he was no God which means he left God to judge and revenge. In fact, Joseph’s brothers had been punished by their guilty feeling for many years. Second, he rested on God’s sovereignty. Joseph knew that God was good and can turn evil to good. No only Joseph forgave his brothers, he promised to provide to them and their children. This is a true forgiveness. We can only forgive because of the work of the Holy Spirit within us. No one can do it by his own power.
