Jacob showed his faith to God’s promise. Though he didn’t see God’s promise fulfilled in his life, he knew one day Israel would occupied Canaan. That’s why he asked Joseph to bury him not in Egypt but in Canaan. Egypt was a beautiful place and they enjoyed special privilege living in the best land with total security. However, Jacob knew Egypt was not his home. May this world not be our home no matter how comfortable it may be. We have a better place that Jesus is not preparing for us.
