When Moses prayed for Israel, his prayer was not based on the merit of Israel but was based on God’s glory: Why let the Egyptians laugh at God? (32:12) What about God’s promise to Abraham? When he prayed for God’s presence with Israel, he asked God to remember Israel was His people (33:13). If our prayer starts with our concern for God’s glory, we are certain that our God will hear us just like he heard Moses.
