The law to the Israelites is similar to the instruction manual to an electrician. If an electrician does not pay attention to the manual, he will kill by electricity one day. Through the law, we know how to approach God. Though the New Testament believers are no longer under the law (Ro 6:14), we learn about God’s characters and holiness through the law. As Exo 20:20 said, “… the fear of Him may be before you, that you may not sin."
