James 1:19-27

When people confront us, we can be defensive and be angry quickly. But a person with true faith, he will listen quickly. Not only that, he puts it into practice immediately. Verse 25 should be our model of devotion: "But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does." (James 1:25, NIV)

When we read the Bible, we “looks intently” not just skimp through it. Also, we need to have devotion regularly - “continues to do this.” Make devotion the first priority of your day. Then, put what we learn into practice - “not forgetting … but doing it.” The best way to do that is to practice it immediately. And the result will be “he will be blessed in what he does.”
