There are 4 different James in the New Testament. The author of this epistle is the brother of Jesus. The theme of James is “the signs of a true faith.” James will describe how a true Christian reacts in different circumstances. For example, when a true Christian faces trials, he will rejoice.
When I read today’s passage, I thank God for who He is. Look at how James describes our God: “God, who gives generously to all without reproach” (v. 5); “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (v.17) Since we have a God like this, shouldn’t we approach Him every moment in every trial?
