Gen 8-9

Noah is a very obedient person. The rain had ceased, the land started to dried, and the dove had gone but he wouldn’t leave the ark until God told him to. It is a very rare characteristic for a person not to obey his common sense but God alone.

When they left the ark, God blessed them again. In the midst of God’s blessings, God set up death penalty (9:6). Therefore, death penalty (including the civil government who carries out the law) is in fact one of God’s blessings. Death penalty is not cruel but a protection of the sanctity of life.
