Gen 24:1-25:18

Abraham’s oldest servant displays the traits of a faithful servant. First, he concerns his master’s concern. On the one hand, he knows getting a wife for Isaac is the top priority but he also concerns whether he should bring Isaac back to Abraham’s home country. Second, he relies on God’s guidance by praying for specific signs. We may not do the same in the Church age because we have the leading of the Holy Spirit within us. Third, he would return back home as soon as he has finished his task. Consider traveling for many months and someone offers you to stay for 10 days, would you not want to take a break? But he would rather finish his task and report the good news to his master.
