Gen 12-13

Abram is called “the father of all who believed” in the New Testament. Abram responses to God’s command with immediate obedience (12:4). Wherever he settles down, he will build there an altar to the LORD. He is also a gentle person. When there was a conflict between him and Lot, he let Lot to pick first instead of insisting his right. However, Abram has his weakness in his faith. For his own safety, he will sacrifice his wife.

God picks Abram not because he is a perfect person. It is out of God’s grace. If we allow God to mold us, God can use us too.
