One of the step we can be controlled by the Holy Spirit is that we will not quench the Spirit. (1Th 5:19) Christians are guided by the Spirit not by the Law. Therefore, the principle of Christian living is more than “right or wrong.” Sometimes, things that are right yesterday may not be right today. Thus, we need to follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will “bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26) If we obey immediately to the Holy Spirit, we will not quench the Spirit.
