Rom 10

Is it your heart desire and prayer to see your own people to be saved? (v. 1) The only way for a person to be saved is for them to call on the Lord (v. 10). And it can only happen if people are willing to be sent by the Lord (v. 15). What is your response today?

Many times I were drawn to the discussion about the object of confession v.9-10. However, when I read this again I found the strong contrast between the method of salvation v.1-8. That is the problem of the Israelites. They have their own method, i.e. the righteousness of the law v.3 and they do not want to accept the method of faith v.4-8. Faith has the object (Christ v.4), it is the deny of work v.6-8, and it has a result (saved) v.9-10.
Theological discussion: Many people discuss about the "confessing with your month" as a requirement of salvation. Most understand this as a equivalent as the "believing in the heart." Therefore I think the confessing of "Jesus is Lord" should also be equivalent to "God raised Him from the dead." The latter phrase is purely talking about the Jesus as Savior. Therefore, the former phrase should denote the same meaning. In other words, there is no ground of Lordship salvation in this passage.
