Rom 1

My sharing: Paul’s understanding about his calling in v. 1 is the whole driving force of his life. He is a servant. He is also an apostle which means a messenger that is sent by God. And he is set apart for the gospel. We are also a servant of God that are commissioned by Jesus to preach the gospel. I am not gifted as an evangelist but I understand this is my obligation. So, I use my gift in teaching to evangelize by leading Bible study. How are you fulfilled God’s calling in your life?

Why would man " exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles v.23?" They knew God but they did not want to honor Him as God and give thanks to Him v.21. Then they do the most unthinkable, they substitute God with something else. Isn't this the most ridiculous thing? You know God is immortal but you exchange the mortal with the immortal. Men are fooling themselves.

Today is my commencement I think there is great temptation to be proud of myself. This passage remind we how foolish I will be if I do not honor God and give thanks to Him. The worship of others' praise is the exchanging of the glory of the immortal God with the mortal man.
