When we think of a perfect Christian, we have an image of love and accepting others without quarreling (Rom 14:1). It is true when we are dealing with non-essential issue. But when some one preached a different gospel, Paul waited no time to defend his stand. He even cursed those people twice (1:8-9) because our gospel is an essential issue. There were Judaizers in Galatians church preaching salvation is justification by faith plus circumcision. This small addition changes the whole gospel.
My sharing: Gal 1:10 says, “For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.” This verse reminds me one of the most important criteria for God’s servant is to please God only. May God help us to focus our desire on Him only.
