One of the purposes for Luke to write Acts is to defense Christianity. Because in Roman Empire, only the tradition religion like Judaism receive religion freedom. By recording Paul’s defense, Luke shows Christian is not a new religion but “agrees with the Law and the Prophets.”
My sharing: God’s plan is outside of our imagination. We would think Paul’s imprisonment hinder the spread of the gospel. However, God uses this situation to spread His gospel to kings and officials. Paul also enjoys the protection by the Romans. This may be the most peaceful time that Paul had in his ministry which later on enabled him to write 4 epistles in the roman prison. So, let’s give thanks to God in whatever situation.
