Luke 23:39

In v.39, Jesus was crucified with 2 criminals. He is treated just as one of them. The leader and the soldiers v.35, 36 also think He is just a common man. Jesus prayed for them and said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing v.34." They do not know who He is.
However, when one of the criminals followed the crowd and said the same thing to Jesus, "Aren't you the Christ? Save yourself and us v.39," the other criminals rebuked him v.40. It seems like that he is the only one who really knows who Jesus is! He knows that Jesus dies not because of His sin v.41. He knows that Jesus will come and bring into the kingdom v.42. In other words, he believes Jesus is Christ!
Do we know who Jesus is? Is He just a criminal hanging on the Cross among others? If we do not know Him do we just follow whatever others say? What they say may not be correct are we willing to follow them regardlessly? Do we just hold to the others truth without thinking sometimes?
