Acts 7

From Acts 1-7, it covers about 2 years in time. The gospel is preached mainly near Jerusalem. The kingdom is still reoffered to Israel but you can see the rejection increase in Acts 7. The 1st martyr led to the spread of the gospel (ch 8-12) to Judea and Samaria.

My sharing: When people point out your sin, what is your first response? Do you burst into anger, blindly defense yourself and eventually destroy the person who indicts you? If the Jews had listened to Stephen, they would have received the gospel.

Jam 1:19-20 “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.”

From v.1 to v.38, the history of Israel is a history of God's grace. God gave Abraham the land, and He leads the Israelites into it through Moses. However, what is the response? From v.39-53, Stephen describes a history of rebellion. Do we also have a history of rebellion? What do people see if they look at your history? Yes, I do have a history of rebellion, too. What makes the differences is the last verse in this section v.52-53. How do you treat Jesus? Do you accept Him or reject Him? No rebellious person can be justified without receiving Jesus as the Savior. I thank God for His salvation.
