What is a prophet like to Naaman? He thinks the prophet heals v.3-4. He thinks he heals because of money v.5 and authority v.6-7. Finally he thinks the healing is superstitious v.11. Of course he knows that prophet comes from God v.11, "call on the name of the LORD his God." What he thinks about the prophet is a reflection about his thinking of God! Israel is a small country compare with Aram at that time. His country is powerful and he is the commander of the army. Proud people do not respect God. He thinks God is only a tool for him to recover from leprosy.
What is our view of God? Are we successful in our career and look down on God. You think God is only for people with a "weak mind?" You think I only need Him when I need help? Finally how do we see the servant of God, our pastor, our deacons? How we treat them is a reflection of how we see God.
The maid servant becomes a brave witness before the commander of the army. Also, the servant on v.13 plays a vital role in the healing. They are good servants because they advice their master for his benefit. Shall we be good servant to our boss today at work?
