John 7:37-44

You may wonder why the water refers to the Holy Spirit v.39? Jesus said this is an analogy from the OT. I found it in Isa. 44:3 "For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants." Water is a blessing in the dry land, so is the Spirit is a blessing to man. We are blessed today to have God lives in us. We will never be thirst again. All the needs in our soul are justified by God.
Another thing that this passage reminds me is about the harm of misconception. People in Jesus time would have a chance to recognize Him as the Messiah king. However, they thought Jesus was not born in the city of Bethlehem, where the prophet said where the Messiah king should be born. Jesus was actually born there and raised up in another place, Galilee, but He is actually born in Bethlehem. Nowadays, we would have less miscommunication if we ask!
