Some people may think that God can be mocked and thus Paul told the Galatians that it is not possible v.7. Why can't God be mocked? He backs it up with the natural consequences of doing good and evil v.8. That is the way God has set up. He will reward the one who wants to please the Spirit and destroy the one who wants to please the sin nature. These things seem natural to us. However, if there is no God we cannot see that. Therefore, if we live our lives without keeping those in mind we are atheist practically.
Paul then encourage the Galatians not to weary, do not give up v.9, and to take all the opportunity v.10 to do good. On Saturday morning I am tempted to stay at home to enjoy my day off. However, there is not always opportunity to serve our church in a practical way. Do we take that opportunity? To wipe the window, to mop the floor... "Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers v.10."
