Job 41:1-11
The creatures described here is translated as crocodile and NIV also guesses that is the meaning (in the footnotes). Anyway, there is some creatures that I think they are so dangerous and terrible. Why does God create them? From v.1-9 the passages describes the limit of man facing such creature. In Hong Kong, there is a famous crocodile which showed up in one of the small rivers. However, nobody is able to trap it. Finally they use a cage and lure it into it. People called it Pui Pui because of the name of the river it showed up. They are difficult creature that man has problems to deal with.
Suddenly in v.10-11 God claim that He is the Creator of these creatures. "No one is fierce enough to rouse him. Who then is able to stand against me?" When men cannot even subdue such creature, how can we confront with God? Difficulties in life remind us that we are finite beings. They are not just obstacles in life with no meaning. They do. They remind us about our limited ability and rose our eyes to look up to God.
