Today will be the last day that I will post my sharing before a short break. I will be out of the country and have limited internet access. I will continue to pray for you, Michael, Susan, Yen, and others for your daily devotion.
Isa. 53:1-10
Our Lord suffers not only physically (v.4a), but also mentally. He bears all these pain with the misconception of the people. They think he is punished by God (v.4b). No one appreciate what he did for them (v.1-3). However, he did not protest for what other do to Him (v.7) and never claim for credit. However, he did the greatest thing for us-being our sin offering (v.5, 6, 10). As the "daily bread" says this is written 700 years before Jesus is born. The greatest details of how he died and buried (v.9) are predicted precisely. How can an infinite God predict so precisely and at the same time love us so tenderly that He is willing to die to a crowd who did not appreciate Him. This echoes what is said yesterday in John 10. When I suffer some minor illness yesterday, I think God is my shepherd I shall have no fear. He will care for His sheep in sickness and in danger. He can and He will protect. "He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? (Rom 8:32)."
