In 12:21-28, the people does not want to listen to God. They think the message is (v.22) "the time will delay, every vision will not be fulfilled." Then Ezekiel corrects them and say in v.23 "Time is close, every vision will come true."
Then in a second attempt, they say in v.27, "the vision will come true but will be in a long long time and in a far far place." Then Ezekiel corrects them and says in v.28, "No more delay, all the words of the Lord will come true!"
Why do they escape the word of the Lord? They do not want to see the destruction of them home and then the change the message of God. We want our desire to come true more than listening to what God says. If your desire is different than what God says, what will you do?
