I think there is a contrast between the glory in the heaven and the oppressed Israelites in the Babylon. However, I think the contrast is not between God and man, because He is not in the vision in ch1. The servant s and the Holy Spirit is the key figures. Ezekiel as the servant of God with the Holy spirit (2:12, 3:22-27) spoke to the Isralites. The Words of the Lord contines even their country and the Temple are destroyed. For today, we are the servant of God. Shall we remember how glorious is the servant of God. We are glorious just like the 4 creatures!
People does not change a bit even though they are punished. They are not humble. In ch 2, Ezekiel repeats 7 times the word, "rebellion." Not necessary when we face hardship we will humble. I pray that God will let me see it when I need that.

Eze 4-7
Imagine you are the Israelite who was captured and now live in Babylon. You go through all the hardship and then you saw others Isarelites keep coming to Babylon. You may ask, how long? GOd, how long do we suffer? Ezekiel gives them the answer, the suffering is not enough yet. More is coming (Ch4-5). May be we are too caught up with our own suffering and forget about the God. God has a very strong reaction to our sin. In ch 5 and 7, He has repeatedly said that He is angry, e.g. 5:11, 13, 15. Do we care when we sin that we will make God very angry?
